Loan Disclosures

School Loan Information Published by the U.S. Department of Education (ED)

Information published by ED is available to students in each loan section of the website via a link to ED’s website:

  • Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized
  • Parent PLUS 
  • Grad PLUS

National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS)

All federal loans (Stafford, PLUS and Perkins) students received are reported on the National Student Loan Data System. The information is accessible to guaranty agencies, lenders and authorized users at schools. Students can access their information using their Department of Education pin number at the NSLDS website.

Entrance Counseling for Student Loan Borrowers (undergraduate and graduate)

Students are required to complete Entrance Counseling on the ED website. In so doing so, all requirements are met.

Exit Counseling for Student Loan Borrowers

When a student ceases at least halftime enrollment, notice that exit counseling must be completed is sent. Students are required to complete Exit Counseling on the NSLDS website. 

Private Education Loan Disclosures (Including Self-Certification Form)

Notre Dame does not provide information regarding private loans from lenders to prospective borrowers.

Self-Certification Form

The office of financial aid provides the self-certification form for private education loans upon request (available on the IFAP website).

Preferred Lender Lists

The school does not have a preferred lender list. General information about private student loans is provided.
