Our Purpose
SANND assumes responsibility for contributing to nursing education to provide for the highest quality of health care. We provide programs representative of fundamental interests and concerns to nursing students.
Our organization aims to aid in developing the whole person, their education, their future as a nurse, and their well-being in general. SANND and its members promote with intention the school of nursing’s program outcomes: presence, praxis, advocacy, scholarship, self-care, and leadership.
The role of SANND members includes:
- Have direct input into standards of nursing education and influence the education process.
- Influence healthcare, nursing education and practice through legislative activities, as appropriate.
- Promote and encourage participation in campus and community events to promote nursing and self-care.
- Represent nursing students to the campus, community, and health care facilities in the area.
- Promote and encourage students' participation in interdisciplinary activities.
- Promote and encourage recruitment efforts, participation in student activities, and educational opportunities regardless of a person's race, color, creed, national origin, ethnicity, age, gender, marital status, lifestyle, disability or economic status.
- Promote and encourage collaborative relationships with nursing and health-related organizations.
