Frequently Asked Questions

I see the Gator Block Party is a new event this year. What activities are included?

The Gator Block Party will have multiple food, live music, a beer tent, a kids' corner, and more!

At the kids' corner, the Student Alumni Leadership Council will be offering jewelry making, NDMU-themed coloring, and a bounce house. Please note that this is not an official childcare service, and NDMU is not liable for any injuries that may occur. We ask that a family member be within eyesight of their child(ren) at all times.

I'm coming from out of state, do you have any helpful travel advice?

Transportation

Notre Dame of Maryland University is closest to BWI Airport if arriving by plane, and Baltimore Penn Station if arriving by train. The University does not provide shuttles from either location to campus. We recommend renting a car, using a rideshare program (Uber, Lyft, etc.), or using public transportation. The MTA's trip planner is a great resource for finding public transportation to get you around the city.

Hotels

Notre Dame of Maryland University does have a block of rooms or a special Notre Dame rate with some hotels in Baltimore. We recommend guests choose the hotel that they prefer. Please note that Alumni Weekend is the same weekend as Johns Hopkins' Family Weekend, so plan accordingly! Some local hotels are listed below:

Inn at the Colonnade Baltimore - a DoubleTree by Hilton (1.1 miles from Notre Dame)

Delta Hotels by Marriott Baltimore North (1.5 miles from Notre Dame)
*10 rooms booked in a block - click link above

The Study at Johns Hopkins (1.9 miles from Notre Dame)

*Special rate for Notre Dame - click link above

Hampton Inn by Hilton Towson (4.7 miles from Notre Dame)

How much does Alumni Weekend cost?

We have set up registration as an a la carte menu to accommodate all budgets. We offer no-cost events and paid events. There is also a $10 early bird registration fee, which increases to $15 on August 18. The ticket costs help subsidize Alumni Weekend expenses, including event rentals, refreshments, and event supplies.

Who can come to Alumni Weekend?

Everyone! We invite all of our alumni and their guests! This year we are incorporating more family-friendly activities on Saturday, September 28, so all members of your family are encouraged to attend.

When does registration for Alumni Weekend end?

Early bird registration will end on Sunday, August 18, but the deadline to register is Sunday, September 22, at midnight. To ensure we provide the best event experience, we discourage walk-in registrations. If you miss the deadline but would still like to attend, please email ndmalum@ndm.edu or call 410-532-3166, and someone from the Alumni Engagement Team can assist you.

Can I cancel my registration?

You may cancel your registration for a full refund until Friday, September 6.

However, if NDMU makes any changes to the event time or date, and you cannot attend due to that change, we will provide you a full refund regardless of the date.

Where do we check-in?

Upon arrival, you must check in with the Alumni Engagement Team before attending any events. Check-in on Friday and Saturday will be outside in the tent on Doyle Lawn. On Sunday, check in will take place at the Memories and Mimosas Brunch.

What will be the parking situation on campus?

You may park in any spot on campus that is not designated for our VIPs, vendors, or those with accessibility needs. If you are a VIP, you will receive a special parking pass to access a reserved spot. If you require an accessibility parking pass, please email ndmalum@ndm.edu or call 410-532-3166, and someone from the Alumni Engagement Team can assist you.

Where should I go if I need to relax during Alumni Weekend?

If you need to stop and relax at any point during the weekend, there will be tables and chairs set up inside Doyle Formal and in Gator Alley, located in the basement of Doyle Hall. These rooms will be open to you during the entirety of Alumni Weekend. You will be allowed to use these spaces to store any belongings, but know that the Alumni Engagement Team is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. There are bathrooms on the first floor down the hall that will be open during the weekend as well. Note: You will not be able to go to the second floor and above in Doyle Hall.
